What is it Like Visiting Las Vegas in June?

June has two types of weather. Sunny and Hot, and Sunny and ridiculously hot. We really can’t state enough, when a heatwave passes through Vegas is unbearably hot. Locals will not venture outside during the day and anything outdoors will be a dreadful chore. And we mean anything, like waiting for a bus, or sitting by a pool! Human beings are just not meant to function in temperatures above 105°F (40°C)
15 Mins of sitting by a pool will have you running for the cool waters, only to find them warm and un-cooling, after partially cooling off, you will return to the sunlounger to sit, soaked in sweat and pool water, feeling uncomfortable and hot. Sunbathing is difficult as simply being in the sun for prolonged periods is quite horrible! In the end, you have but one option, head for the AC!
How to Stay Cool in Las Vegas!
However this is just the peak of the day, In the early mornings and late afternoon the temps often fall to more pleasant levels, and of course, being inside the Casino offers a year-round pleasant climate.
On top of this, not every June day is a Heatwave day, and regular temps are more manageable, while the needle does regularly creep up to 100+°F (37°C) that sort of heat is a bit more bearable than the oven-baked temps the heatwaves supply.
On the whole, it’s going to be hot, it’s going to be sunny and you need to be prepared to not expose yourself too much to the midday heat!
Hotel Prices in June
Prices in June tend to be a little cheaper than in other summer months. This is surprising as the Month is one of the best weather months, but the lack of big events, conferences, and Holidays mean the month is a touch quieter than you might expect, we often find really good bargains during June!
With great weather, Cheap hotels, and zero rain, June is a good choice if you can stand the heat!
If you are finding prices really high on your proposed dates chances are a conference is in town (see below). Consider shifting dates and you may find prices plummet! The World of Concrete is scheduled to hit Vegas in June 2021 and this will definitely bump prices that week!
What are Crowds like in June?
Crowds in June are fairly low for peak season but it is still a very busy month. The lower numbers are largely due to a reduced Conference Crowd so Tourist numbers seem very high. The Business is however more spread out throughout the month, as opposed to any seriously crowded periods due to a holiday or event.
Weekends can be seriously rammed as people head for a weekend of fun, but on the whole, it is not as crazy as you might expect. But it is certainly at no point quiet!
Will it Rain in Las Vegas in June?

You will be seriously unlucky if it does! in the last 20 years, Vegas has only seen 5 rainy days in June! and even then only minimal amounts. The Climate is just not conducive to rain. That said there is likely to be rain about, The intense heat and local mountain ranges mean moist air can get pushed upwards to create pretty impressive storms but these rarely fall in the valley.
If you want a guaranteed Rain free trip, June is one of the best choices!
What is there to do in Las Vegas in June?
June is a month where everything is in full swing in Vegas, there really is very little not available. However, with the temps starting to get very high, some outdoor activities are pretty risky.
Hiking anywhere remotely wild is a big risk. When temps are this high the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke is very real. We would avoid The Valley of Fire completely, and Red Rock Canyon should be limited to driving tours only. If you MUST hike these; get up super early and be back at the car at 10 am. After that, the heat is just unbearable.
Pools are also not that much fun when the temps are up into the high 110s. The water temps get so high they have a very little cooling effect, and the water quality can become a little suspect.
We tend to plan indoor activities at peak times. It is just too hot out to enjoy anything, so Museums, a spot of Gambling or even a light entertainment show. Anything to get you inside and into the Aircon environment.

Events in Las Vegas in June
June lacks any real big events or dates to avoid. Instead, the fantastic weather and steady conference traffic make the month busy all month rather than the more usual peaks and troughs!
Conventions in Las Vegas in June
June is not known for its big Convention dates. The month has a steady slew of smaller events but nothing huge that will massively impact your trip. You may find a small event causes a price gauge at the hotel in question but overall it does little to affect the crowds elsewhere in Vegas
