Hi Shelly, We are pretty jealous you lived so close to the islands, It's quite a trek for us form the UK. Completely worth it though. The food just can't be replicated anywhere else it seems. Glad we have found you some things you haven't tried before hope your next trip is fantastic.

Thanks for reading, hop you get to Hawaii soon to try some of the amazing food out there. We love Pupus as it provides so much variety in one meal so you get to try many tastes and flavours of the cuisine.

Food and cultural cuisine in Hawaii is with great taste.
Ranging from all starters to desserts all have a great variety.Personally i would love to try it out and have a taste of it.They look very tasty and yummy at the same time.Particular the puus,wow,the look is very tempting

Hi Steve thanks for the reply, we really Love this article!! We lived in Alaska for 10 years, and were fortunate enough to get to Hawaii in late January every year, to escape. We loved the food in Hawaii and the Luaus! You have found some things we did not see, so this is fun! We will look for some of these interesting local eats next time we make it to the islands for sure. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us!

When you get good fresh Hawaiian fish it is simply superb, We are sure you will have a great time when you are there, we head out again in March!

Of course we have had Taco's in Maui. we are a big fan of Maui Taco's the salsa bar is awesome! But most taco shops and trucks are fantastic, we tend to stick to Fish or Ahi tacos...because it feels more Hawaiian.

There are a good selection of different food truck across the islands yes, like the Mainland, with loads of different cuisines and styles available...we just prefer Taco's lol

Perfect. I could image the fish in Hawaii is among some of the best.

I’m going next summer and know some people headed there next month. I’ll defiantly share this site with them.

Have you tried the tacos in Hawaii? are there other styles of food trucks there as well?

Hi Marques,

Maui is such a beautiful Island, we are sure you will have a great trip. Feel free to look around. As we are building out Maui pages right now, check back regularly for more info in the Island.

Poke is delicious, we are sure you will love it if seafood is your thing. Make sure you grab a Fish taco from either a food truck or one of the small stores that sell them. Luau feasts often have lots of traditional seafood like lomilomi salmon. and most restaurants have their own signature seafood dishes along with plenty of fresh seafood options.

For a real treat try mamas fish house in Paia. Expensive but truly incredible food.

Hawaii sounds so nice! In June, I’m going to Maui, and it’s my first time going to Hawaii, so learning about it was helpful. I love seafood, and I’m so eager to try poke. Are there any other seafood you recommend when I go in June? I’m so excited to go, thanks for sharing this!
