Thanks for your feedback, it does look like they have cut quite a bit this year, without adding much in it’s place. We loved the Swap Section of the Bayou Maze, the monsters really picked on us in that Watery Section!

Honestly 1am seemed excessive, but 11 maybe touch soon, midnight would be a nice compromise!

It’s shame they have made cuts but it should still be a great night

If you can, consider heading to Knotts Scary Farm this Year…it looks pretty epic for their anniversary!

10 of us went to the 2022 SD Howl O Scream event and had a blast!
The last room at the Bayou where you virtually walked into a swamp with monsters was really awesome.
*No swamp room this year.
The Vampire Underground party with vampire DJs and dancers was a lot of fun.
*No party this year.
*Closing at 11pm as opposed to 1am
last year.
More of us are going this year because we hyped it up to more friends.
So 2023 has the same houses and all the cons listed above, just looks like this might be our last year attending.

Unfortunately, we have not made it to the Event this year, so not got any advice just yet we are heading there in the next few days so will put together a Tips and Tricks Article based on our visit!

We found last year it was pretty quiet with minimal queues so you could get a lot done, hoping this year is similar.

Thanks for the comment, we have updated our intro, but we want to try and keep this to Sea Worlds offering.

We think we meant “popularized” by Universal, they really brought the Scare events to the mainstream, but you are right Knottsberry was first but back in 1973 it was a LONG way from the scare events we know today, but absolutely they deserve the credit as first.

If you had read to the end we had already given Knotts Scary the Props we think it deserves, but have updated the intro to reflect the First Status.
